Treatment information

Begin
with the cause.

Hair loss treatment starts with understanding the pattern of thinning and the health of your scalp. Emma combines a detailed consultation with diagnostic blood testing where indicated and a holistic review of nutrition, stress, sleep, weight changes and hair-care habits.

Common reasons for consultation
  • A widening parting or thinning crown
  • Increased shedding
  • Reduced hair density
  • Questions about scalp treatment and medical options
01

What treatment involves

Hereditary thinning, temporary shedding and inflammatory scalp conditions need different approaches. Tests are selected around your history and may help investigate contributors such as iron deficiency or thyroid problems. PRP uses a concentrated portion of your own blood, injected into the scalp. Polynucleotides and exosomes may also be discussed. At this clinic, exosomes are applied topically, not injected. Emma explains the proposed product and method before you decide.

02

Results and timing

PRP has evidence of benefit for some pattern hair loss, although responses vary. Polynucleotides and exosomes are emerging approaches with more limited evidence for hair regrowth and long-term outcomes. Hair growth takes time, and progress is usually assessed over months. Regrowth cannot be guaranteed. An individual plan sets out the proposed course, costs and review points.

03

Downtime and aftercare

Injection treatments can cause tenderness, bruising and swelling; procedures that create microchannels also require careful aftercare. Follow the instructions supplied for your particular procedure.

04

Suitability and safety

Infection and other complications are possible. A scalp procedure does not replace treatment of an underlying medical cause. Some concerns need GP or dermatologist assessment before treatment. Sudden, patchy or painful hair loss needs prompt medical review.

The information above is general and does not replace an individual medical consultation. Recommendations, risks, expected outcomes and aftercare are confirmed personally before treatment.
