Book a consultationDermal fillers are injectable gels, commonly based on hyaluronic acid, used selectively to restore support, soften a contour or refine facial proportion. At Wedgwood Medical, filler is considered within a full-face assessment—not as an isolated feature treatment.
Emma assesses facial anatomy, movement, previous treatment and the way light and shadow sit across the face. If filler is appropriate, the product, placement, amount and sequencing are agreed before treatment. The appointment commonly takes around 30 minutes.
A visible change is usually present immediately, although swelling means the settled result cannot be judged on the day. The aim is a balanced, natural-looking outcome that still feels recognisably you.
Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common temporary effects. You will receive product- and area-specific aftercare, including guidance on exercise, pressure and when to seek advice.
Filler is a medical procedure with uncommon but potentially serious risks. Treatment follows consultation, informed consent and careful anatomical planning; it may be declined where the clinical benefit does not outweigh the risk.
